Sylvie’s passion for beading was born when she became acquainted with American Indian arts and crafts. She became fascinated with the beading technique called peyote or gourd stitch, which American Indians still use to beautify ceremonial objects and clothing articles.
Her art took a personal and intriguing twist as she started to express herself through her creations.
Gifted with a creative mind and exceptional manual skills, Sylvie creates extraordinary and fascinating precious objects inspired by Florida nature and colors. Florida’s sparkling seas, reflecting ponds, wild grasses and swamps are her inspirations. She carefully selects each bead for her projects and places them to enhance their unique beauty. Selected beads can be semi precious stones, gold, silver, antique, glass, porcelain, clay, wood, even shells gathered on her walks on the Florida beaches.
Each piece she creates is unique and captivating. She has won local and national beading contests. Her art can be found in galleries and fine art shows in Florida.
